4.2.5.8 Phonebook Tab (revised in v3.6.5 onwards).
This tab will allow users to create mobile groups, and
mobile recipients, assign a mobile number to every
recipient, and then group recipients in groups. Users can
send messages to either individual mobile recipients or
broadcast to a mobile group. A mobile recipient can
belong to several mobile groups.
E.g. Tom is assigned to +1234567. Tom and Jerry are
company staff and belong to the mobile group costaff.
Tom is also an organizer of community projects the
company undertakes and belongs to mobile group co-
member.
Note: theres an import button that will allow you to import
files in TEXT and CSV format into an addressbook group.
The format is:
1. Note that SENTTOTYPE carries a value of 0 if the recipient
chooses to receive via mobile phonenumber (instead of
pagernumber).
2. You can manage your data in Excel or Access, and then
export to CSV format for import back into VisualGSM
Phonebook. An easy way to approach this is to create a
starter group, export out, enter in your entire data set, and
then import back into VisualGSM Phonebook.
Notice the mergefields, MERGEFIELD1 MERGEFIELD8 (up
to 8 mail merge fields per recipient). These are used to
specify mailmerge replacement values for every mobile
recipient. You can use %1 in your outgoing message to
represent MERGEFIELD1, and similarly for %2 to represent
MERGEFIELD2, and so forth.

E.g. Hi %1, how are you today? We would like to mail you
some brochures, and hence would like to verify that your
address is: %2.
If MERGEFIELD1 carries the name of the recipient, and
MERGEFIELD2 the mailing address, a message such as the
following may be sent:
Hi Pete, how are you today? We would like to mail you
some brochures, and hence would like to verify that your
address is: 15 Hampton St UWK 1502?
