I've been researching solutions and thought this might be a good place to find someone that can offer advice or possible offer their services (paid, of course) to obtain this solution.

I am also wondering how Visualtrons service would fit into this project.

1) a solution allowing our US based members to take a photo with their cell phone, and then send the photo by MMS to either an email address or phone number that would automatically post their message content on our site in a specific category based on the message content.

The picture text message they send would be posted on our website and linked to their member profile. The text and pic would be automatically categorized based on the text within the message. The categories would be limited to type and location. For example "birds, Baltimore Maryland" would be categorized in the Baltimore, Maryland section of the website and then under the category entitled "birds". The user would be aware of the categories and would place the proper info into their text message. The code would simply scrape their text message for the proper category / location and then post accordingly.

2) We need a highly configurable back end (maybe Joomla) that will allow for future customization.

Initially we need the website to support memberships and allow for members to post basic pictures and text in appropriate categories similar to craigslist. Members would upload postings either by taking a picture with their phone and sending the info by MMS or they would manually input the information and upload the photos using their computer.

3) We need the ability to distinguish free and paid memberships from each other. We also need the ability to change the criteria for what constitutes a free membership versus a paid membership. Initially a free membership will require the user to post at least 10 uploads within a 30 day period. It will also limit them to being able to see uploaded listing until they have been active for 120 minutes. The paid membership will not have these limitations.

4) The ability to track the number of postings a member makes and provide them with "points". The member will be able to use these points toward various perks such as free memberships, free upgrades, etc
