I'm new to the SMS industry and I'm looking for software on just about any OS for sending out an automated, uniform, nightly SMS to my subscribers.
We are planning on billing on a monthly basis. I plan on offering Credit Card & PauPal payment options and would also be interested in customers having the option to have the subscription fee charged to their cell phone bill or prepaid credits if they didn't have credit or debit cards. I've been told the carriers take a large percent of SMS billing though. Anyone have any numbers on this and typical application/set up time & fees to get SMS billing going? I'd like to keep costs down to be able to offer a low subscription fee with the ability to cover all possible carriers. Many of our clients are near the poverty line and this service is helping them out in a large way. The content of the SMS is a recording of an automated outbound phone call converted into text via voice recognition. This is all completely automated and it needs to play well with a service that can automatically send out the content at a set time (Shooting for 9pm 5 days a week) or when it's triggered by new content from the voice recognition. I'm looking for a software solution to integrate with the list of subscribers and reliably send the captured content to our subscriber list. The biggest things to me are reliability, automation/integration, and keeping costs low. We were going to use a shared short code and pay per msg through Clickatell but we just found out that the cell phone providers decided to crack down on shared short codes due to spam. The application process and the 1st 3 months of shortcode fees was going to be $5175 and take 12-14 weeks to get approved and then $900 a month after that. Help me find another way please! |

Unfortunately, there's no other way, perhaps you can allow users to pay using paypal or credit card online. -------------------- |
