Pre-Release for VisualGSM Enterprise Server v5.0.0!


Visualtron Software is proud to release VisualGSM Enterprise v5.0.0, an overhaul of v4.5.x (see announcement), providing you with a high availability and low maintenance SMS Gateway platform.

This patch to upgrade your VisualGSM Enterprise installation to version 5.0.0 can now be downloaded from http://www.visualtron.com/visualgsm/patch/patch.exe. Alternatively, if you wish to install an evaluation version, you can download the new installer (incorporating the latest updates) from http://www.visualgsm.com/download.htm.


Important for Registered/Existing Users!

If you are a registered VisualGSM user and you are on support plan (all purchases come with free one year support), download and apply the patch on a registered server.

After upgrading, click on Help/Registration menu to access online registration. You will need your "Online Activation Code" to complete the online registration. After that, the online registration system will issue you with a new license key for the new version. Please register your setup as soon as possible after you have upgraded.

If you are not on support plan, lost your Online Activation Code, or your registration data is not found in our online system, you may email support@visualtron.com to request for an upgrade.

General
1. VisualGSM Watcher service to ensure high availability''.
2. Ability to detect carriage return or linefeed immediately after keyword to handle and support users using signature.
3. Support for Windows Vista (SP1) and IIS7 (IMPORTANT: Admin rights required for installing VGSM on Vista!)
4. HTTP parameters MSG, ORIG, KEYWORD for HTTP URL Keyword actions will be forwarded to the interfacing HTTP application only if no user configured HTTP parameters are found.
5. Sleeping Period function in which all low priority broadcast messages are suspended during the sleep period (configurable).
6. Advanced Search by criteria (Date range/Keyword/Recipient/Sender/Error Msg) for VisualGSM Manager.
7. Report Generator - Generates SMS usage report on daily/month/yearly for all user/individual users.

GSM Channel
1. Support for GSM devices using baud rates of 230400,460800,921600 bps.
2. Automatic modem port/baud rate detection function for VisualGSM Manager.
3. Upgraded serial port component to support a greater range of serial expansion cards and GSM devices.

SMPP Channel
1. Added an additional 17 SMPP configurable connections so that you can configure the server to concurrently connect up to 25 SMPP gateways/accounts.
2. Separate service for SMPP receiver to handle up to 500,000 SMS a day.
3. Upgraded Winsock component for higher throughput.


Bug Fixes

General
1. Fixed problem in which SMS processing speed is slowed considerably (Affects VisualGSM Enterprise Server v4.5.2-v4.5.7).
2. Fixed problem in which real-time log in VisualGSM Manager stops displaying after sometime.
3. Fixed Patch Upgrader problem for MySQL installations in which MySQL fails to start after upgrading.
4. Fixed csend.exe (CGI) exception in IIS7 (Vista).
5. Fixed bug in VisualGSM Watcher service that causes it to errornously restart VisualGSM service.

GSM Channel
1. Fixed select COM port bug for VisualGSM Manager.
2. Fixed character encoding problem for certain Traditional Chinese characters.
3. Fixed Concatenation SMS encoding problem when message is longer than 1377 characters.
4. Fixed intermittent problem in which some Concatenated SMS received by GSM modem are not properly decoded or missing.

SMPP Channel
1. Fixed British Pound encoding sign problem when sending using SMPP.
2. Reduced the amount of alert emails generated for SMPP connection disruptions by sending the alert only if the connection cannot be re-established immediately on rebinding.

''Note: VisualGSMWatcher Service has been identified as a malware by some antivirus tools (e.g. McAfee) due to its third party monitoring activity (its primary purpose is to check on VisualGSM Service). Over the last few weeks, we have amended the service to avoid this problem. If you are facing this issue, please download the latest update and contact us if the update fails to resolve the issue.
